Opportunity for Women and Non-Binary Filmmakers: Apply to the FFM Workshop in Marseille!

We are excited to share an important opportunity:

Films Femmes Méditerranée (FFM) is launching the 7th edition of its Workshop, a two-day event dedicated to supporting women and non-binary filmmakers from the Mediterranean region.


Dates: November 13–14, 2025

Location: Marseille, France (during the 20th edition of Films Femmes Méditerranée)


The goal of this Workshop is twofold:


  • To promote connections between selected filmmakers and professional producers from the Mediterranean area.

  • To support the development and production of feature film projects (fiction or creative documentary).



Who can apply?


  • Women or non-binary filmmakers from Cyprus and other eligible Mediterranean countries (full list below).

  • Applicants must have already completed at least one film (short or feature).

  • Filmmakers selected in Season 6 (2024) cannot apply again this year.



Application Requirements:

(Submit all materials in English or French, compiled into a single PDF file)


  • Front page (name, film title, fiction or documentary)

  • Short first-person autobiography

  • Half-page film summary

  • Statement of intent (max 2 pages)

  • Developed synopsis (max 4 pages)

  • Artistic treatment note (max 3 pages)

  • Identity document

  • Viewing link to a previous film (ensure it remains functional)

  • For fiction films: first 5 pages of the script

  • Mention if you already have a producer attached



Submission:




Selection:


  • 10 projects will be selected by a committee of cinema professionals.

  • 8 filmmakers will be invited to Marseille for one-to-one meetings with producers.

  • Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by FFM.

Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, France, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, North Macedonia, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Palestine, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey.


About Films Femmes Méditerranée (FFM):

Created in 2006 in Marseille, FFM organizes the annual Films Femmes Méditerranée Festival and conducts educational cinema workshops throughout the year.


The 20th edition of the Festival will take place from November 7–14, 2025.
