OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
MIDPOINT Shorts 2021–2022
MIDPOINT Shorts is a training and networking program intended for filmmakers from all
over the world (with the regional focus put on the Central and Eastern Europe)
with projects of professional or graduation short films.
It selects teams of writers, directors and producers of short film projects in development to
go through one online and two intensive residential workshops dedicated to script and
project development.
Apart from creative development and structural dramaturgy, the training offers production
strategies guidance, incorporates distribution strategies into the development process,
focuses on presentation skills and promotion and offers insights into financing, sales and
festival strategies.
Selected creative teams will get the unique chance to present their project at the showcase
taking place within When East Meets West Co-Production Forum, organized also in
partnership with the Trieste Film Festival.
Thanks to the brand-new collaboration, after entering the shooting phase, selected
MIDPOINT Shorts project graduate will get the unique chance to attend the Focus WiP of
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: JUNE 30, 2021
