Call for Film Submissions – Sydney Film Festival 2026

Dear Members,

The Sydney Film Festival (SFF) is now open for submissions. The 73rd edition will take place from 3 to 14 June 2026.

We invite you to submit your productions for SFF consideration and/or help share the call for entries with your industry colleagues.

The Festival accepts Australian and International entries in the following categories and awards:

🎬 Features (40 mins +)

• Australian Features (Fiction)

• International Features (Fiction or Documentary)

🎥 Any Length

• First Nations Award: Excellence in filmmaking (fiction or non-fiction) from Indigenous director/writers – $35,000 (Free to submit)

• Sustainable Future Award: For films that deepen understanding of the global climate emergency – $40,000

• Documentary Australia Award: Recognising excellence in Australian documentary production – $20,000

• Screenability Program: Entries of any length from filmmakers living with disability (Free to submit)

🎞 Short Films

• Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, including:

  
  

  • Dendy Live Action Short Award – $7,000

  • Rouben Mamoulian Award (Best Director) – $7,000

  • Yoram Gross Animation Award – $7,000

  • AFTRS Craft Award – $7,000

  • Event Cinemas Rising Talent Award (Screenwriting) – $7,000

  
  

• FLUX: Art+Film International Shorts (under 15 minutes)

• Freak Me Out: International Shorts (under 15 minutes)

🏆 The winning films in the Dendy Awards and Documentary Australia Award are eligible for Academy Award nomination.

All feature-length films may also be considered for the Official Competition and compete for the Sydney Film Prize ($60,000).

Προκήρυξη Συμμετοχής – Sydney Film Festival 2026

Το Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου του Σίδνεϊ (Sydney Film Festival – SFF) δέχεται τώρα αιτήσεις συμμετοχής για την 73η διοργάνωσή του, που θα πραγματοποιηθεί από 3 έως 14 Ιουνίου 2026.

Προσκαλούνται οι ενδιαφερόμενοι να υποβάλουν τις παραγωγές τους για εξέταση ή/και να προωθήσουν την πρόσκληση σε συναδέλφους του κινηματογραφικού χώρου.

Το Φεστιβάλ δέχεται Αυστραλιανές και Διεθνείς συμμετοχές στις ακόλουθες κατηγορίες και βραβεία:

🎬 Ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους (40’+)

• Αυστραλιανές ταινίες μυθοπλασίας

• Διεθνείς ταινίες μυθοπλασίας ή ντοκιμαντέρ

🎥 Κάθε μήκους

• First Nations Award: Βράβευση ιθαγενών δημιουργών (μυθοπλασία ή ντοκιμαντέρ) – $35,000 (δωρεάν συμμετοχή)

• Sustainable Future Award: Ταινίες που ευαισθητοποιούν για την κλιματική κρίση – $40,000

• Documentary Australia Award: Αριστεία στην αυστραλιανή παραγωγή ντοκιμαντέρ – $20,000

• Screenability Program: Συμμετοχές από δημιουργούς με αναπηρία (δωρεάν συμμετοχή)

🎞 Ταινίες μικρού μήκους

• Βραβεία Dendy για Αυστραλιανές Ταινίες Μικρού Μήκους, μεταξύ αυτών:

Όλες οι ταινίες μεγάλου μήκους μπορούν επίσης να συμμετάσχουν στον Επίσημο Διαγωνισμό για το Sydney Film Prize ($60,000).
