CALL FOR ENTRIES - The Days of Russian–Cypriot Cinema

The Days of Russian–Cypriot Cinema (Ημέρες Ρωσικού–Κυπριακού Κινηματογράφου)

will take place on 25 and 26 September 2026 at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Nicosia. The festival is organised by the St Petersburg non-profit organisation "Svoy Krug", which supports emerging filmmakers, together with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Nicosia.

Entry to all screenings and events is free of charge, and there is no submission fee for either competition.

Submissions for both competitions are open until 19 September 2026.

The programme opens on 25 September with a Cypriot feature film and a Q&A with its team. 26 September is dedicated to the short film competition, the script pitching session, the awards ceremony and the closing event.

Short Fiction Film CompetitionOpen to filmmakers from Cyprus and Russia. Fiction shorts of up to 25 minutes. Films should be submitted with English subtitles. Selected films will be screened in competition on 26 September and judged by an international jury of Cypriot and Russian film professionals.

Script Pitching CompetitionOpen to screenwriters from Cyprus and Russia. Scripts of up to 20 pages, in English or Russian, on the theme of the cultural ties between Cyprus and Russia. Shortlisted authors will pitch their projects online on 26 September before the festival jury.

The main prize is the professional production of the winning script, with a projected production budget of up to €40,000. Final terms will be agreed with the winning author after the festival.
