Call for Applications – “Let’s Pitch Some Shorts!” Workshop & Pitching Forum in Zagreb

We’re pleased to share an exciting opportunity for emerging filmmakers!

The Creative Europe MEDIA Desks of Croatia, Cyprus, Montenegro, Czech Republic, and Serbia, in cooperation with the Film Center of Montenegro, Arts Council Malta, Organisation for European Programmes and Cultural Relations (Cyprus), and the Greenland Film Makers Association, are organizing a workshop and pitching forum titled:

Let’s Pitch Some Shorts!

This initiative is designed for film professionals and students, particularly directors and screenwriters, developing short fiction film projects. The program culminates in a Pitching Forum open to industry professionals and the public.

🗓 Dates & Venue:

• Workshop: June 30 – July 2, 2025 | 09:00–17:00

• Pitching Forum: July 3, 2025 | 10:00

• Location: Vern’ University (Workshop) & Kaptol Cinema Boutique (Pitching Forum), Zagreb, Croatia

🎓 Workshop Highlights:

Led by acclaimed German producer Roshanak Behesht Nedjad

(EAVE graduate, mentor, and member of the European and German Film Academies; her film Mission Oil Funk premiered at Berlinale 2021)

Up to 10 projects will be selected from the participating countries.

Deadline: June 11th, 2025, at 12:00 PM (CET)

Required Materials:

• CV (max 1 page)

• Photograph

• Synopsis (max 1 page)

• Logline (max 3 sentences)

• Financial plan (if with producer) or estimated budget (if applying solo)

• Director’s concept

• Answer: Who is your target audience and why?

Note: Participants must be ready to complete workshop assignments (“homework”).
