After a COVID-related hiatus, British Film Days return this year in legendary fashion, honouring the late and great Sean Connery, the world-famous Scotsman and, for many, the ultimate, iconic Bond, through three of his most diverse silver-screen performances.

The British High Commission, in collaboration with the British Council and the Friends of Cinema Society, invite you to join us at British Film Days 2022, with the following screenings taking place at Pantheon Cinema, Nicosia:

• Friday 18 March - Dr. No (1962): Connery’s first James Bond film which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Connery went on to star in five Bond films, with many still hailing him as the greatest ever 007.

• Saturday 19 March - The Untouchables (1987): Brian de Palma’s crime classic marking its 35th anniversary. Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Jim Malone. Music aficionados will recall and relish the soundtrack by the late maestro Ennio Morricone!

• Sunday 20 March - Finding Forrester (2000): Gus van Sant directs this film with Connery playing William Forrester, a Pulitzer prize winner who takes a young student from the Bronx under his wing, nurturing his writing talent and helping him secure a scholarship to a prestigious private high-school in Manhattan.

All screenings will begin at 20:00. Admission is free of charge. You will just be required to present a SafePass to enter the theatre.

Feel free to share this invitation with your networks.
