We want to help filmmakers in Cyprus by offering a discount on submitting their recently completed films or scripts to AFF. The discount code for both competitions is 10AFF2026.

The Early Bird Deadline of March 27 is just around the corner, so we encourage filmmakers to submit early for the lowest fee of the year.

With a mission to spotlight independent filmmakers, AFF welcomes film submissions across nine competitive categories. These include our Academy Award®–qualifying Animated Short, Documentary Short, and Narrative Short competitions, as well as genre-focused categories such as Comedy Vanguard (outstanding comedic work) and Dark Matters (thrillers and horror), among others.

AFF’s Script Competitions are open to features, original pilots, teleplay specs, stage plays, shorts, digital series, and fiction podcasts. For over 3 decades, our script competitions have worked to merge the gap between craft and career by connecting emerging talent with meaningful opportunities, mentorship, and real access. Competition Fellowship partners include Valhalla Entertainment, The Donners’ Company, AMC Networks, Starburns Industries, and YMH Studios, to name a few.
