Marios Lizides is an interdisciplinary Cypriot director, cinematographer, editor and lecturer. He graduated with Distinction from the University of Edinburgh/Edinburgh College of Art, with an MA in Film Directing. His flm Wax and Feathers, a film he directed, photographed, edited and sound-designed screened in various film festivals, including two strands of the 73rd Edinburgh International Film Festival, Athens International Film Festival's Νύκτες Πρεμιέρας and Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival. It won the Best Film and Best Director Awards at the 9th International Film Festival of Cyprus, Cinematic Achievement Award at Thess IFF and Audience Award at Paphos IFF.
Earlier work includes a series of experimental short flms, music composition, screenwriting and stills photography that has been published and exhibited in Scotland and Cyprus.
He is currently developing his personal flm-projects while working as a freelance flm-maker and a flm-making lecturer.
Ο Μάριος Λιζίδης είναι σκηνοθέτης, διευθυντής φωτογραφίας και λέκτορας πειραματικού κινηματογράφου. Αποφοίτησε από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Εδιμβούργου με την σπουδαστική του ταινία Wax and Feathers, η οποία έχει κερδίσει τα βραβεία Καλύτερης Ταινίας και Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας στο 9o Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Ταινιών Μικρού Μήκους της Κύπρου (ISFFCY).
Η ίδια ταινία, έχει προβληθεί σε μεγάλα διεθνή φεστιβάλ κινηματογράφου, όπως το φεστιβάλ του Εδιμβούργου (Edinburgh International Film Festival), το φεστιβάλ ντοκιμαντέρ της Γιχλάβας (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival) και τις Νύκτες Πρεμιέρας του Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Κινηματογράφου της Αθήνας.
