Efi studied Mass Communication and Media Arts with a major in film and TV directing at the Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh and continued with a Master's degree in Television Documentary Production at University of Salford. With more than fifteen years of experience, Efi has cultivated productive partnerships with leading production houses in Cyprus, Greece and Europe.
Her roles, mainly as a Producer, Production Manager and Coordinator, have contributed to the success of various productions, some of which have been featured on international streaming platforms such as Hulu and BBC.
Throughout her career Efi directed three short films:
‘‘Blink of a moment’’ was an official selection for Athens International Film Festival, Nyxtes Premieras in 2006.
‘Verge On’’ was selected at TiSFF - Thess International Shorts, Greece in 2008.
‘‘Day in a Life’’ was broadcasted by the BBC Screen in Exchange Square in Manchester - UK in 2010.
‘‘Dressing it up’’ (editor) - Nominated for Best Current affairs program - Broadcasted by Sky+ Royal Television Society Awards UK & Lucerne International Film Festival, 2011
In addition, as the Head of Production and Multimedia at a prominent Media House in Cyprus she oversaw the creation of several productions for many clients, commercials, animation, web series and documentaries. Modestou played a pivotal role in every aspect of the creative process, from initial concept development, to project delivery.
